What We Do

This twitter account is dedicated to U-Know Yunho aka 유노윤호 in his native language. U-Know is a S Korean vocalist, dancer and rapper, as well as leader of group known as TVXQ in S Korea (동방신기) and Tohoshinki in Japan (東方神起). U-Know is also a solo performer with fan-club issued album in Japan (U Know Y in 2015) and two albums released in Korea True Colors and Noir (in 2019 and 2021 respectively). This account's main focus is his solo work, however, we do not shy from bringing up his group work as well, time permitting and based on circumstances. We bring reports on YouTube progress of his solos, charts, news, Instagram posts related to him as well as any TV activities as they happen. We appreciate all his work before the debut in TVXQ, during his time in TVXQ till this day and all of his solo work, including his performances while serving army (ROKA band) between 2015 and 2017, his musicals shortly after the TVXQ split, and charity work (by fans in his name and himself). We provide instructions how to vote in various apps when the time comes and instructions to YouTube streaming.

February 2021 Incident Explained

Background: On Feb 25th, 2021 Yunho answered a call from his friend for business advice. It was not an unusual event and Yunho agreed to meet. What transpired from the meeting, however, caused an issue that stirred sensation hungry media to spread untruths and rumors based on nothing that actually happened.
In a matter of a few days after the event the media reported false information that now is widespread in many online communities, tabloids and other media. Let us clear this up, and as source we use 2 resources that were one of firsts reporting hence having least contamination of untruths. In March, media reported reported the following:
1. Yunho and his friends were found in a bar with female entertainment workers, after 10PM (curfew at the time)
2. Yunho tried to fight
3. Yunho tried to escape police
All three above were already explained in the article listed here and in SM's 1st statement and Yunho's own Instagram apology. Yet, the media continued to tack on more false information.
The law in February, by Seoul Mayor, forbid 5+ people gathered in a public place after 10PM. Yunho was found with THREE friends only, all of them male, in the restaurant after midnight. There was no violation of Gatherings Act. Violation of curfew was noted.
Police also stated that he never tried to fight them or escape, he simply showed his ID and was sent straight home from the establishment.

Media's false reports about the restaurant/bar was caused by misleading info they were provided. The bar Yunho went to was new, and was opened in a place where an illegal room salon was raided in December 2020. As Yunho stressed in his apology, he had never been to this restaurant and he did not check it beforehand.

On 9/2 Police Report was issued in the case of the restaurant owner. That report also included ruling in Yunho's case. Yunho was acquitted of any wrong doing except violation of curfew. He will be assigned a fine for that. With the police report, SM released a statement as well, and Yunho released another apology on Instagram.

Innocent until proven guilty. There is no ruling of guilty against Yunho. Please accept Police and Prosecution rulings.

SM statements and Yunho's apologies are the sources of truth. They do not conflict with Police rulings.

FIRST SM STATEMENT:
This is SM Entertainment. There was a report with false information today related to Yunho, and so we are sharing our statement. It was clearly wrong for Yunho to have not abided by the social distancing regulations, and he is also personally deeply reflecting. However, he did not do anything wrong other than violating the social distancing regulations. All Yunho did was go to the location that his friend told him to come to after his friend contacted him to say that he wanted to talk about a concern. It was his first time going to that place. Also, the only people that Yunho spent time with there were his friends. It is not at all true that there was a female employee sitting with them. At the time of the police's arrival, there were only managers there to handle the payment, and there was not a female employee. In addition, it is not at all true that Yunho tried to flee when the police arrived. Instead, he earnestly cooperated with the police and the public officials in the performance of their official duties, and so after he immediately confirmed his identity on the scene, he was sent home. As there were suddenly more than 10 plain clothes police officers coming in, some of his friends were taken aback and protested, unaware that they were police officers. However, this was something completely unrelated to Yunho. It is deeply regrettable that a false report was made without the facts being properly confirmed. Criticism and punishment will be accepted for the wrongdoing, but we implore you to refrain from groundless speculation.

FIRST YUNHO APOLOGY
Hello, I'm Jung Yunho. I'm sorry I disappointed deeply everyone who has trusted me and supported me. Above all, I am sorry to all those who are having a hard and tiring day, including the medical staff who are enduring and working hard due to COVID-19. I'm so ashamed of myself for not being able to keep the business time curfew while meeting and talking to my friends, and I think many people must have been angry and hurt by my wrong behavior. I regret so much that I couldn't pay more attention and did something wrong, and I just feel sorry. I will deeply reflect on the violation of the quarantine rules, follow the COVID-19 quarantine rules more thoroughly, and think deeper and act every moment. Once again, I'm sincerely sorry.

SM SECOND STATEMENT (after Police report)

This is SM Entertainment. On the 1st of this month, U-Know Yunho was acquitted from violating the city's quarantine rules past 10 pm at a meeting with friends in February. The fines to be imposed later will be paid faithfully. At that time, Yunho U-Know visited the place for the first time after being contacted by a friend, and actively cooperated with the crackdown process and subsequent investigations. Yunho U-Know has deeply reflected on the fact that he has caused concern to many people as well as fans through his careless actions during a difficult time due to COVID-19, and he is still regretting it a lot now. Once again, we sincerely apologize for causing concern to many people.

Hello, I'm Jeong Yunho. First of all, I sincerely apologize to everyone who is disappointed in me because of the past happening. As a person who is loved by many people, I apologize again for not meeting with my friends until after 10:00 p.m. in February, and I am very sorry for causing many people's concern because of my carelessness in not looking at the place I visited. At that time, I was asked to consult with my friend, and I was able to talk quietly, so I attended the place without particular concern. I had a time of repentance in shame of myself, and I am still reflecting on myself. I will scold myself more and reflect so that this does not happen again in the future. Once again, I sincerely apologize for causing many people's concern because of my mishap.
